I-Mallombassi Daeng Mattawang Karaeng Bonto Mangngape Sultan Muhammad Bakar Hasan ud-din Makassarnya [Tumenanga-ri Balla'Pangkana], Sultan of Gowa. b. 12th January 1631, educ. privately. Forced to accept the protection of the VOC under the terms of the Treaty of Bungaya, 18th November 1668. Abdicated in favour of his elder son, 19th June 1669. m. several wives, including, m. (first) 12th February 1645, I-Maminasa Daeng Sangnging Siti Safiyah (b. 2nd March 1633; d. 11th October 1648), daughter of I-Mangadachina Daeng Sitaba Karaeng Pattingalong, sometime Tuma'bicarabutta of Gowa. m. (second) 4th April 1650, I-Peta' Daeng Nisali, daughter of Karaeng Banjuanjara of Sanrabone. m. (third) 8th July 1654, I-Lo'mo' Dayang. m. (fourth) 4th February 1654, Majannang I-Lo'mo' Tobo, who had issue, two sons and two daughters. m. (fifth) 21st May
1654, I-Bata Daeng Tombi Karaeng Pabiniyang Siti Maimuna [Tumenanga-ri Bonto Biraeng] (b. 17th October 1637; m. second, 16th September 1669, La Ten-ri Tuppa To' Walenae, Adatuwang of Sidenreng; and d. 13th December 1696), his chief wife, youngest daughter of I-Mangadachina Daeng Sitaba Karaeng Pattingalong. m. (sixth) I-Sitti Karaeng Kampung-beru Daeng Talele (d. 22nd June 1725), daughter of I-Mallewai Daeng Ma'nassa Karaeng Mataoya, Karaeng of Chenrana and sometime Tumalailang of Gowa. m. (seventh) Daeng Jipaleng Siti Halima, a junior wife. m. (eighth) Pabiniyang I-Mina I-Kare Nannang. m. (ninth) I-Bajang Daeng Masiang, daughter of Karaeng Tarung or Karaeng Batu-Batu. m. (tenth) Kare Tulolo I-Badji Daeng Antu. He d. 12th June 1670, having had issue, nine sons and seven daughters:

        1) I-Manjawakkang (s/o Daeng Nisali).
        2) Daeng Arenne Ahmad (s/o I-Bate). He d. aged nine years.
        3) I-Mappadulung Daeng Mattimung Karaeng Sanrabone Sultan Fakhr ud-din 'Abdu'l Jalil ibnu Sultan Muhammad Bakar Hasan ud-din, Sultan of Gowa (s/o Daeng Nisali) - see below.
        4) I-Mappasosong Daeng Mangngewai Karaeng Bisei Sultan Muhammad 'Ali ibnu Sultan Muhammad Bakar Hasan ud-din, Sultan of Gowa (s/o Daeng Nisali) - see below.
        5) I-Manrurunggang Karegappa Daeng Mangappa Karaeng Manggalli'. b. 13th January 1655 (s/o I-Lo'mo' Dayang). m. 23rd March 1672 (div. 25th May 1673), I-Tani (m. second, 28th August 1674, Karaeng Bangkala), daughter of Karaeng Jarannika [Tumateya-ri Salaparang], of Salaparang. He d. 29th December 1709.
        6) I-Manninrori Karetojeng Karaeng Galesong. b. 29th March 1655 (s/o I-Lo'mo' Tobo). Became C-in-C of the allied army of Madurese, Javanese and Makassar troops under Trunajaya, conquering all the ports on the north coast of Java. Appointed as Adipatai Anom by Trunajaya, September 1676. m. autumn 1675, Karaeng Rappotjini Mappa Arung Tonra (m. second, 8th August 1680, Kare-pate I-Sarampa, of Boni, and d. 19th March 1686), daughter of Raden Trunajaya, Panembahan Prabu Madu Retna Senapati ing Alaga, of Madura. He d. at Banten, 22nd November 1679, having had issue.
        7) I-Mappasomba Daeng Nguraga Sultan Amir Hamzah ibnu Sultan Muhammad Bakar Hasan ud-din, Sultan of Gowa (s/o Karaeng Pa'bineang) - see below.
        8) I-Makkarurung Daeng Ma'julu Karaeng Agangje'ne. b. 29th September 1659 (s/o Daeng Nisali). m. 6th December 1675, Daeng Anreene (m. second, 19th February 1679, Daeng Mangemba Kasim; and d. 8th May 1726). He was k. in battle, 23rd May 1677, having had issue, one daughter:
            a) Karaeng Bontolangkasa. m. 28th August 1692, Karaeng Jarannika 'Abdu'l Ghafur, Karaeng of Chenrana (b. 21st April 1641; d. 14th May 1709), younger son of I-Mallewai Daeng Ma'nassa Karaeng Mataoya, Karaeng of Cenrana, sometime Tumalailang of Gowa, by his wife, Daeng Mangeppe, daughter of I-Mallingkaang Daeng Mannyon-ri Karaeng Matoaya Sultan 'Abdu'llah Awwal al-Islam, Karaeng Tallo. She d. at Lombok, 1700, having had issue, one daughter - see Indonesia (Chenrana).
        9) I-Adulu' Daeng Mangngalle. b. at Mangasa, 6th February 1669 (s/o I-Lo'mo' Tobo).
        1) I-Bulomabassung I-Sunggu Siti Latifa Daeng Talebang Karaeng Langelo. b. 29th May 1655 (d/o Daeng Nisali). m. (first) 8th February 1669 (div. 6th April 1673), I-Maminawang Daeng Mangalliki Karaeng Kaballokang, son of Karaeng Karunrung 'Abdu'l Hamid - see Indonesia (Tallo). m. (second) 2nd July 1673 (div. 31st January 1674), I-Tatara Karaeng Lekobodong (b. 28th June 1647; d. at Kilo, 22nd March 1696), son of I-Mammalijang Daeng Pole Karaeng Langkese, Karaeng of Chenrana - see Indonesia (Chenrana). m. (third) 27th June 1675, (div. 20th March 1678) Arung Teko (d. 24th June 1718), a Bonese prince. m. (fourth) 15th August 1680 (div. 21st February 1682), I-Mapajanji Daeng Matayang Kasim, Karaeng of Tanette (b. 21st February 1649), second son of Daeng Matiring Ibrahim, Karaeng of Tanette, by his wife, I-Tumbu, daughter of a King of Gowa - see Indonesia (Tanette). m. (fifth) 27th May 1683 (div. 10th April 1684), To' Tanri Arung Kaballangang, Adatuwang of Sawito - see Indonesia (Sawito). m. (sixth) 20th October 1687, To' Esang, Datu of Soppeng (b. ca. 1657; d. 23rd May 1707), son of La Tan-ri Bali Beowe II, Datu of Soppeng - see Indonesia (Soppeng). She d. 23rd April 1730.
        2) I-Simaele, who d. aged seven.
        3) I-Saena [Zainab], who d. aged seven.
        4) A daughter. m. La Tan-ri Lai To' Sengngang [MatinroE-ri Salekona], Arung Matowa of Wajo - see Indonesia (Wajo).
        5) Siti Safiah Daeng Rikong (d/o I-Lo'mo' Tobo). m. 9th March 1673, Daeng Mangemba (d. at Batavia, 15th February 1692), Regent of Siang. She d. in childbirth, 3rd January 1674.
        6) Siti Fatima Daeng Takantu Karaeng Champagaya (cre. 5th November 1719). b. 10th September 1659 (d/o Daeng Talele). m. 5th December 1681, Karaeng Laoe (d. 23rd January 1725), of Sanrabone. She d. 28th January 1729, having had issue, one son and one daughter:
            a) Makkaraeng Karaeng Mandjallieng. b. 26th December 1683.
            a) Siti Aisha. b. 6th January 1683.
        7) Siti Roqayah Daeng Mami. b. 28th August 1670 (d/o I-Lo'mo' Tobo). m. (first) 21st August 1683 (div. 15th July 1684), Karaeng Bontomanai, son of Karaeng Karunrung 'Abdu'l Hamid, sometime Tuma'bicara-butta of Gowa - see Indonesia (Tallo). m.
